Open Water Dive Sites Required Info

You are responsible for transporting yourself and your equipment to and from the site due to insurance requirements.  Plan ahead to handle sandy, salty, wet equipment in your vehicle.

Some sites may require admission fees (see list below).

Plan for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at a minimum. Weather or other events could change the times. Bring food, drinks, sunscreen, change of clothes, towels, rain gear etc.  There generally is no shade available, so be prepared.

Some classes require dive charter boat trips and are a possibility if everyone agrees to pay the charter fees (2021 current rates approximately $120 / per person / per day).  Fees are set by individual dive charter operators.  Maximum depth allowed during the class is 60 feet for open water (40 feet for 10 & 11 yrs olds), and varies for other courses. Let me know if you want this option, and if the entire class agrees I will check on availability.

Below are the possible shore dive locations in order of preference for classes with a shore dive component.  Safety, weather, tides, temperature, drive time and accessibility all play a role in which site is chosen.  The final determination will be made by your instructor before the dives.
